Walk With Dogs Privacy Policy
Effective Date: August 15, 2026
Last Updated: August 15, 2026
Skye (the “Operator”) establishes this Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) regarding the handling of information in the application “Walk With Dogs” (the “App”).
Article 1 (Basic Policy)
In providing the App, the Operator's basic policy is to design the App so as to collect as little user information as possible.
Usage data from the App is, in principle, stored on the user's device and is not transmitted to the Operator's servers.
The Operator complies with applicable laws and handles information in accordance with this Policy.
Article 2 (Information Handled by the App)
The App may handle the following information.
(1) Step Information
- Step counts obtained through the device's motion and fitness features
- Information such as goal achievement rates and records calculated from step counts
(2) Information Stored on the Device
- Various app settings (language, step goal, notification settings, etc.)
- Dog card collection and favorites status
- Photos, names, and comments that the user selects for My Card
(3) Purchase Information
- Premium feature purchase status (information indicating whether or not a purchase has been made)
Purchase status is determined based on information provided by the store, such as the Apple App Store or Google Play; credit card numbers and other payment information themselves are not collected or stored by the Operator.
(4) Inquiry Information
- The content of the inquiry and contact information when a user submits an inquiry by email or other means
Article 3 (Information Not Collected in Principle)
The App does not, in principle, collect the following information.
- Location information and GPS information
- Contact (address book) information
- Audio or video information obtained via the microphone or camera
- Heart rate and other medical or health-related information
- Advertising identifiers and other advertising-related information
- Social media account information
- Behavioral history outside the App
The App accesses images in the photo library that the user has personally selected only when the user sets a photo for My Card. The App does not access photos that the user has not selected.
Article 4 (Purpose of Use)
The Operator uses the information it collects within the scope of the following purposes.
- To display and present step counts, achievement rates, records, and related effects
- To provide the dog card, rare card, album, and My Card functions
- To determine Premium feature purchase status and provide the corresponding features
- To respond to inquiries
- To maintain the App, address defects, and make improvements
The Operator will not use the information it collects beyond the scope necessary to achieve the purposes set forth in this Article.
Article 5 (Storage Location)
The App's usage data is stored in the app-specific storage area on the device.
The Operator does not operate its own server that collects the App's usage data.
Data on the device may be lost due to app deletion, device reset, or other reasons. This point is also set forth in Article 9.
Article 6 (External Transmission)
The App does not use advertising SDKs, external analytics SDKs, or tracking SDKs.
The App does not share a user's behavioral history with third parties for advertising purposes.
The App uses OS features of the device (motion and fitness functions, the photo library, the in-app purchase infrastructure, etc.) to the extent necessary to provide the App. The use of these features may be subject to conditions set by the respective OS provider (Apple, Google, etc.).
The purchase process for Premium features is carried out through the purchasing infrastructure of a store such as the Apple App Store or Google Play. Payment information itself is handled by the respective store, and the Operator does not collect or store payment information.
Article 7 (Provision to Third Parties)
The Operator will not provide collected information to third parties except in any of the following cases.
- When the user has given consent
- When required by law
- When necessary to protect a person's life, body, or property, and obtaining the user's consent is difficult
- When it is necessary to cooperate with a national or governmental body in carrying out affairs prescribed by law
Article 8 (Handling of My Card Photos)
The photos used in the My Card function are limited to those the user has personally selected from the photo library.
The selected photo is stored on the device and is not transmitted to the Operator's servers.
Users may delete or change their My Card photo at any time.
Article 9 (Retention Period and Deletion)
Information stored on the device remains stored on the device until the user deletes the App.
If the App is deleted, the data stored on the device will normally be deleted as well. However, behavior may vary depending on the device's or OS's backup and restore settings.
The content of inquiries and contact information obtained in connection with an inquiry will be deleted within a reasonable period after the response has been completed.
Article 10 (Security Control Measures)
The Operator takes reasonable measures to prevent leakage, loss, or damage of collected information and for other security control purposes.
The very design of storing most of the App's usage data on the device is itself part of the security control measures that reduce the risk of external leakage.
Article 11 (Choices Available to Users)
Users may change or revoke, at any time, permission to access the motion and fitness features, the photo library, and other features from the device settings.
If a permission is revoked, functions related to that permission — such as acquiring step counts or setting a photo for My Card — may become unavailable.
Users may delete the usage data stored on their device by deleting the App.
Article 12 (Use by Children)
The App is designed with consideration for children's privacy by endeavoring not to use advertising SDKs or other tracking means.
If a minor purchases a paid feature, the consent of a legal representative shall be obtained, as set forth in Article 21, Paragraph 4 of the Terms of Service.
Article 13 (External Services)
The App is distributed through the Apple App Store, Google Play, and other app distribution stores, and uses the in-app purchase infrastructure provided by these stores.
The handling of information within these external services is governed by the privacy policy established by each respective service provider.
The handling of information by the sources of photo materials used in the App (Pexels, Unsplash, etc.) is also subject to the terms established by each respective provider.
Article 14 (Changes to This Policy)
The Operator may amend this Policy as necessary in accordance with applicable laws.
When making a material change, the Operator will provide advance notice of the content of the change and its effective date within the App or by other appropriate means.
For changes that require a user's individual consent under applicable law, the Operator will obtain such consent by the necessary means.
Article 15 (Inquiries)
For inquiries regarding the App, these Terms, or materials within the App, please contact the following.
Operator: Skye
If your inquiry concerns rights in a material, please provide the information necessary for verification, such as the material in question, the nature of the right, and your contact details.
Article 16 (Governing Law)
This Policy is governed by, and shall be interpreted in accordance with, the laws of Japan.
